Fabulous Food: Ham and Cheese sliders

I grew up eating these ham and cheese sliders, but back then, my mom always called them "Ham Delights".  Even though you don't usually think that kids would be into poppy seeds, yellow mustard and onions...these little sandwiches were always a crowd pleaser.

I have found that the key to making this sandwich great, is to buy the best ingredients.  You can find a ham and cheese sandwich anywhere, but combine the best ham, the best swiss cheese and the best bread...and you have THE BEST ham and cheese.  And they seem to be be perfect for any occasion whether it be movie night or while you watch the game.

Ingredients:
1 stick butter
3 Tbsp yellow mustard
3 Tbsp poppyseeds
1 md finely chopped onion
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
thinly sliced ham
swiss cheese
pull-apart rolls

Directions:

Melt butter in a small saucepan.  Combine the mustard, poppyseeds, onion and Worcestershire sauce and cook over low heat until the onions begin to turn translucent.

I used pull-apart twisted egg bread rolls (from Trader Joe's), but you can use any rolls you prefer.  Split the rolls down the middle and lay them open.

Spread the onion mixture on both side of the rolls

Layer the ham and swiss on one side of the rolls...

...and then put it all together.

Wrap in foil and cook at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, or until the cheese melts.

Enjoy!

Honestly...these little guys are super good!
