Friday Favorites: Weddings! Weddings! Weddings!

As cliche as it may be, women usually start to envision their wedding days when they are children.  And through the years, our idea of "perfect" changes, but something else happens as well.  The wedding day becomes the day we show all of our friends and family who we have become and what is important to us.  On our wedding day, we often create this world that we find absolutely beautiful and our personalities materialize through even the smallest of details.

I spent almost a year planning a wedding that took place in May, and I find that I am still a bit stuck on perusing all of my favorite wedding resources.  Here are my absolute favorites:

1) BHLDN.com- What could go wrong when you combine anthropologie and weddings? Answer: Absolutely nothing.  Love, love, love, love it.  Here is why-

Beautiful dresses:
Ethereal Monarch Gown $3200.00     By: There Is Only You And Me  (left)
Tulle Era Dress  $2600.00                      By: Tracy Reese  (right)

Amazing Acessories:
Polka Dot D'Orsays  $370.00     By:  Bettye Muller
Quixotic Cap  $325.00                 By: Twigs and Honey
St Moritz Clutch  $670.00           By:  Kotur
Snow Capped Cloche  $90.00    By:  Delphine Quirin
Graupel Necklace  $750.00        By:  Erickson Beamon

Unique Decorations:
             Porcelain Bloom  $10.00
             Cravens' Garden Tablecloth  $78.00
Piping Hot Place Card Holders  (s/6)  $52
             Princely Pair Cake Topper  $298.00
             Bygones Flatware Bundles  $68.00

No one modernizes vintage as well as BHLDN.  Even if you are not planning a wedding, it is hard not to be inspired when perusing this site.

2) StyleMePretty - What I love about this website is the "Real Weddings" page.  They feature hundreds of beautiful weddings in many different categories- budget beautiful, casual elegance, contemporary, cultural beauty, vintage chic, diy inspired, etc.  Whatever mood or theme you want to portray at your wedding, you will find amazing ideas and inspirations from this website.

memorable details  (Amy Majors Photography and Stephanie Reeder Photography)

The ideas on this site are limitless and most of them are not limited by your budget.  Keep your mind open, take an idea you love and make it your own.

3)  100 Layer Cake- What I love about this site is that it has a "marketplace", "pop-up shop" and diy resource page.

We all know that after the wedding, you often have turned a room in your house into a storage room for all of the left over decorations- 100 Layer Cake has a "marketplace" where you can sell your gently-used or new wedding decor. Gotta love that- have some fun recouping your expenses : )

Vintage Bud Vases- 40 for $250, Vintage Handkerchiefs- 5 for $30 (shipping-$6), 6x9 Kraft Bags- 100 for $12 (shipping $5)

Like the two previous sites, 100 Layer Cake has lots of great photos, but I love the fact that it helps you get started making some of the great things you have seen by providing you the resources to do so. Just one of the things you can learn is how to make fabric flowers from start to finish- they give you a materials list and step-by-step instructions.

They also list their favorite craft, catering and floral suppliers as well as resources for renting archive and found vintage pieces.  A few unique rentals can make all the difference.
